The image of a child being lifted up to a US soldier over a barbed-wire fence at the airport in Kabul was seen across the world, with the caption: Top US generals said Tuesday that they advised President Joe Biden to keep American troops in Afghanistan. At a press conference later that day the White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, admitted to reporters that President Biden had received "split" advice about what to do in Afghanistan.
The R&I Peers project is being funded by the EU Horizon 2020 programme. The project spanned 9 countries and involved running a number of SDDPs to bring together stakeholders and experts to strengthen the knowledge base, as well as share experiences with the Gender Equality arena, thus ensuring long-term adaptation of the Gender Equality Plans and Strategies produced. The aim was to implement and improve 7 Gender Equality Plans in R&I-related organisations; to address the gap in gender representation in decision-making and research, and to maximize the impact and the efficacy of gender content in the research programs.

A Mutual Learning workshop “Towards the identification of best practices in the Gender Equality Arena within an organisation” was organised by CNR, CNTI and CIC nanoGUNE in the context of the project R&I PEERS funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, on November 7th in Rome, Italy.
The Co-Laboratory to “Address Racial, Economic, and Educational Inequalities through Our University Network“ was organized by Future Worlds Center and Innovative Compliance Europe Ltd on behalf of the OSUN Hannah Arendt Humanities Network. The methodology utilized to facilitate the Co-Lab was the Structured Democratic Dialogue process, supported by specialized tools.
